Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light 2027 Padel Racket

£265

The Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light is a 350 g attacking diamond for players who want diamond power with quicker hands: a high balance, HES Carbon 8K faces and Medium+ foam, the same recipe as the Ultimate Pro but 15 g lighter.

Light means lighter here, not softer. It still feels medium-hard and still asks for good timing; it's simply easier to swing for longer, which suits lighter players, many women, and anyone who finds a full-weight diamond tiring by the third set.

Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light vs Ultimate Pro

Padelful's 2026 scores for the two show what 15 grams buys. The Pro Light is quicker in the hand (8.5 against 8.0 for the Ultimate Pro); the Pro hits harder (9.2 against 8.6) and is a touch more controlled. Sweet spot and rebound are close. Padelful hasn't scored the 2027 Pro Light yet, but Oxdog's spec sheet shows the same 350 g HES Carbon 8K and Medium+ build.

If you have a strong, fast swing and like weight behind the ball, buy the Pro. If you'd rather get the racket to the ball early and are happy to supply a little more of the pace yourself, the Light is the better fit.

Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light review: how it plays

Sharp is the word. Padelful's strengths are fast handling at the net, a sharp bandeja and víbora and a dry, precise response off the face. Volleys come off quickly and the racket gets back into position before the next ball arrives, which is the whole point of a lighter diamond.

The weaknesses are a diamond's, sharpened by the lighter build. The effective sweet spot is small, late blocks feel harsh, and defence demands clean contact. Padelful puts it bluntly: this is for players who attack often, live at the net and already trust their timing.

The 6 g weight in the handle

Most Oxdog rackets carry an 8 g removable weight in the butt cap of the handle. On the 2027 Pro Light Oxdog fits a 6 g piece instead. Leave it in and some mass stays near your hand, which calms the head; take it out and the racket gets even lighter with the balance pushed further towards the tip.

On a racket that's already light and head-heavy, most players will want to leave it in. Taking it out is for confident attackers who want every bit of head speed.

Light Oxdog rackets: diamond or teardrop?

If you're shopping for a lighter Oxdog, there are three good routes. The Pro Light is the attacking diamond with a high balance. The Ultimate Woman Air is also a 350 g diamond, but with a medium balance, medium foam and a slimmer handle, so it's gentler. The Hyper Woman Air is a 345 g teardrop for players who want a light racket that defends as well as it attacks.

Pick the shape first, then the balance. Our women's padel rackets page lines up light rackets from every brand, whoever ends up holding them.

Who should buy the Ultimate Pro Light?

Attacking intermediates and advanced players who want a diamond but prefer a lighter frame: smaller or lighter players, many women, juniors moving into adult rackets with a good technique, and anyone with a full-weight diamond that now feels heavy late in a match. Our diamond padel rackets page compares it with other brands.

Not for you if

You spend most of the rally defending, you're still learning to find the sweet spot, or your arm dislikes firm rackets. Lighter does not mean softer, and the small sweet spot punishes late contact. Oxdog's Hyper teardrops or our round control rackets will suit you better.

What to pair with the Ultimate Pro Light

Fit the Oxdog No1 frame protector or another racket protector before you play; diamonds clip the glass. An overgrip adds 4 to 5 g at the handle and calms a light head a little, so try the Oxdog Gold Pro overgrips or browse our padel grips.

For balls, a tube of Oxdog Boost+ keeps the bag one brand; the padel balls guide explains how quickly a tube loses its bounce. The Oxdog X Thermo backpack carries a racket and kit, or see every padel bag. Pair it with padel shoes for sand-filled turf, and see the full padel racket range or our guide to choosing a padel racket if you're still deciding.

Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light 2027 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light softer than the Ultimate Pro?

No. It uses the same Medium+ foam and an HES Carbon 8K face, and Padelful rates its feel medium-hard. The difference is weight: 350 g against 365 g, which makes it quicker to swing.

Is the Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light a women's racket?

It is unisex. Its weight suits many women, lighter players and anyone who wants quicker hands, but Oxdog's women-specific diamond is the Ultimate Woman Air, with a medium balance and a slimmer handle.

Has the Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light changed for 2027?

The build matches the 2026 edition: 350 g, diamond, HES Carbon 8K and Medium+ foam. Oxdog's 2027 sheet lists a 6 g removable handle weight on this model, lighter than the 8 g piece used elsewhere in the range.

Is the Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light good for intermediate players?

For attacking intermediates with good timing, yes. Padelful notes a small effective sweet spot and harsh late blocks, so defensive or developing players will find a teardrop easier.

How heavy is the Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light?

Oxdog lists 350 g. Removing the 6 g handle weight makes it lighter still and moves the balance towards the head; each overgrip adds about 4 to 5 g back at the handle.

How do I protect an Oxdog Ultimate Pro Light?

Fit a frame protector before your first session, keep it in a cover away from heat, and check the handle weight is screwed in firmly now and then. Most damage comes from knocks on the glass and hot cars, not from playing.
