Wilson Defy Pro V1 Special Edition Padel Racket (2026)

£234.30

The Wilson Defy Pro V1 Special Edition padel racket is the white and gold limited edition of Wilson's heaviest diamond: about 370 g, 15K carbon, Power Foam core and a head-heavy balance, for advanced players who finish points. Padel Reference lists it as a 2026 limited edition in that colourway.

On paper it matches the standard Defy Pro V1. Nothing we read says the hardware changed, and the two rating pages we checked do not agree on how it handles.

What the Special Edition is

It is a diamond, with the weight at the top of the frame and a firm, reactive feel. Padelful notes a C2 Tubular frame and Padel Reference a 38 mm carbon frame with 3D relief on the face and a hard to mid-hard touch. Both agree on 15K carbon and a Power Foam core.

The retailers we saw list 370 g give or take 10 and a 265 mm balance. Central Sports sells the white and gold version under WR213911U.

Table of where sources differ on the Wilson Defy Pro V1 Special Edition: 370, 368 or 360-375 g, high head-heavy balance at 265 mm, 15K carbon face, Power Foam core, white and gold limited finish and advanced or advanced-expert level

Special Edition or the standard Pro V1

No source we read lists a performance difference between this and the standard Defy Pro V1. A Zona de Padel guide, which we could only see as a snippet because the page now returns an error, says the difference is only aesthetic. We have not seen a spec-by-spec comparison from Wilson.

The reviews are where it gets messy. Padelful scores this racket 9.5 for power and 7.0 for control, and gives it low marks for sweet spot and manoeuvrability. Padel Reference gives 10 for power and 8 for control, and 9 for manoeuvrability, on a scale it does not state. They describe the same hardware and a different handling profile.

Table of two rating pages for the Wilson Defy Pro V1 Special Edition: Padelful scores power 9.5, control 7.0, manoeuvrability 6.5 and sweet spot 6.5 out of 10, and Padel Reference gives 10, 8, 9 and 8 on an unstated scale

Who should skip it

Anyone who wants forgiveness, because every source calls it demanding and Padelful warns that the sweet spot is compact. Our advanced padel rackets page lists alternatives, and our guide to choosing a padel racket explains how balance and weight change the feel.

A heavy racket takes a beating, so add a racket protector, fresh padel balls, an overgrip from our padel grips range and suitable padel shoes. The wider padel racket range sits behind it.

Not for you if

You want an easy racket. Padelful lists a compact sweet spot and slow defensive blocks.
