Wilson Defy Pro V1 Padel Racket (2025)
£155.29
The Wilson Defy Pro V1 padel racket is the heavy hitter of Wilson's 2025 Defy range: a 370 g diamond with a 15K carbon face, a Power Foam core and a high balance, built for advanced players who finish points with smashes and víboras. Two stockists name Javi Garrido as the player behind it.
Padelful, as recorded in our research, scores it 8.6 overall with power at 9.7 and control at 9.1, which is why it keeps coming up. It is firm, unforgiving of late contact and aimed at strong players. Sources disagree on the balance figure, and a 2026 Special Edition of the same mould scores much lower.

Which level is the Wilson Defy Pro V1 2025 Padel Racket for?
By Tushan Das, Owner, Padel Depot · Updated
What the Defy Pro V1 is
It is the top of Wilson's Defy line, and Tennis Warehouse calls it heavier and more powerful than the brand's other power rackets while still handling well for its weight. The build lists C2 tubular carbon construction, an I-Beam to stiffen the middle of the frame, Aeroexact padel-specific geometry meant to lift swing speed and help off-centre hits, and a Duo Grid hole pattern with bigger holes at the top.
V1 is Wilson's version number, and the 2025 label here is the season of the colourway. A white-and-gold 2026 Special Edition of the same racket is a separate listing, covered below.

How it plays: heavy, direct and very good when you are on time
Power is the headline, at 9.7 on Padelful, with control at 9.1 so it is not a blunt instrument. The listings back that up: Padel Nuestro promises maximum power and speed, and Tennis Warehouse pitches top-of-the-line power with versatile handling. A buyer quoted by one US retailer says it feels more manoeuvrable than the Blade, which is a retailer comment, not a test.
The price of that is the usual one for a firm 15K diamond. Timing has to be good, defence takes effort and a late, rushed swing is not rescued by the frame. Think of it as a racket that makes a good player better and makes a tired one noticeable.
High balance or 265 mm? And who is behind it?
Padel Nuestro UK says high balance with no figure, and Padelshop and Padelgids agree on high. Tennis Warehouse lists 265 mm, the same figure it gives the standard Defy V1 and Bela rackets. Both agree on the diamond shape, 370 g, 15K carbon and Power Foam. Weight is given as 355 to 370 g in one snippet, so allow for the tolerance.
Padel Nuestro and Padel USA name Javi Garrido, but Tennis Warehouse names no player, so take the signature as a retailer claim. What you can rely on is a heavy racket with a 15K face and a diamond head, whichever number you prefer for the balance.

2025 or the 2026 Special Edition?
Our catalogue also holds the Defy Pro V1 Special Edition 2026, a white-and-gold version on the same mould. Padelful rates the SE at 7.7 overall: power 9.5, control 7.0 and sweet spot 6.5, so it behaves as a less forgiving racket. For most buyers the 2025 racket is the better-scored of the two, so check the listing says 2025 before you order.

Who should skip the Defy Pro V1
Beginners, defenders and anyone who relies on the racket for help. A 370 g, high-balance 15K diamond is hard work if you are still building technique, and our intermediate padel rackets and beginner padel rackets pages are friendlier starting points. If you want to compare other power frames, see our diamond padel rackets.
Not for you if
You are new to padel, you defend more than you attack or you want a settled balance figure. Listings split between high and 265 mm, and the racket punishes rushed contact.
Setting it up
A heavy diamond takes knocks at the frame, so fit a racket protector and keep a fresh overgrip from our padel grips range ready. Use good padel balls, wear proper padel shoes and carry the racket in a Wilson Defy bag or any other padel bag.
For a lighter attacking diamond from another brand, see Varlion's Bourne Prisma Carbon Soft. For the basics of shape and weight, our guide to choosing a padel racket explains it, and the full padel racket range has the rest, including more advanced padel rackets.
