Bullpadel Vertex Hybrid 2027 Padel Racket

£305.94

The Bullpadel Vertex Hybrid is the Vertex for players who defend as much as they attack: the same 12K carbon face, MultiEVA core and 365 to 375 g weight as the diamond Vertex 05, built on a rounder mould with the balance pulled down towards the hand. This is the 2027 edition, sold as the Vertex 05 Hybrid 27.

Bullpadel calls the shape hybrid. In the hand it leans teardrop, and Padelful and Tennis Warehouse Europe both file it that way, so think of it as a teardrop with a Vertex badge rather than a softened diamond.

If you finish nearly every point with an overhead, the diamond Vertex 05 27 will suit you better. Everyone else should read on.

Which way does the Vertex 05 Hybrid lean?

Towards the teardrop. The crown is rounder than the diamond Vertex, the widest part of the head sits a little lower, and Bullpadel publishes the balance at about 25 cm on its own scale against about 25.4 cm for the diamond Vertex 05 in the same year. Four millimetres doesn't sound like much. Swing both rackets at the net and you'll feel it straight away, because the Hybrid comes round faster and settles sooner.

Retailers can't agree on what to call that balance. Tennisnuts lists it as even, Tennis Warehouse Europe as low, Padel Nuestro as medium. We go with Bullpadel's own figure and the plain description: lower than the diamond, higher than a round control racket.

Bullpadel Vertex Hybrid review: what it does on court

Picture the point that goes wrong with a diamond: you're pinned at the back, the ball is low off the side glass, and the racket feels a fraction slow getting under it. That is the moment the Hybrid was built for. Padelful's testers scored the 2026 edition (same 05 mould) 8.7 overall, with control at 9.2 and the sweet spot at 9.1, and praised quick, stable exchanges at the net and a forgiving face in defence.

What it doesn't do is hand you free depth. Power scores 8.0 against 8.5 for the diamond, and the same testers warn that a short swing gets you a short ball, and that the feel is firm rather than plush. It is still a 12K carbon racket with a hard core; the shape is friendlier, the build is not soft.

Our view: the better racket for most strong club players, and the one we'd pick for playing on the right. The diamond is the specialist.

Vertex 05 Hybrid, diamond Vertex 05, Geo or Neuron 02?

Four Bullpadel rackets sit in the same weight band and get mixed up constantly. The Geo is the one people confuse with the Hybrid: it has the geometric head and a bigger hitting area, but keeps the balance high and uses a softer-feeling 3K face. The Neuron 02 27 is the control racket of the group, a 3K hybrid for players who build points rather than end them.

2025, 2026 or 2027: which Vertex Hybrid is this?

Searches for the Vertex Hybrid mix up three rackets. The Vertex 04 Hybrid was the 2024 and 2025 model on the older 04 mould, a lower-balance racket that some shops even called round. The Vertex 05 Hybrid replaced it for 2026, and this 27 edition is that same 05 mould in new colours for 2027. Same sheet, same numbers, new paint.

So a review of the 2026 Vertex 05 Hybrid tells you how this one plays, while a review of the 2025 Hybrid is describing a different frame. If you want the diamond from the older generation instead, we still have the Vertex 04 2025.

Is the Vertex 05 Hybrid a good racket for intermediates?

For a strong intermediate, yes, and that is rare for anything with Vertex on the throat. Padelful's verdict pitches it at the intermediate-to-advanced all-rounder, and Tennis Warehouse Europe lists it as intermediate and advanced. If your bandeja is reliable and you're starting to want more weight behind the ball, it is a sensible step up from a softer teardrop. The best padel racket for intermediate players page lists the gentler options alongside it.

It also earns a place on our advanced padel rackets list, and you'll find it among the teardrop padel rackets too, which tells you how hard it is to pin down.

Skip it if

You're still learning to hit the middle of the face, you want easy power without a full swing, or your elbow complains after a stiff racket. The firm 12K face and hard core don't go easy on mistimed shots. The Vertex 05 Comfort 27 is the softer member of the family, and the full padel racket range has plenty below it.

Setting up the Vertex 05 Hybrid: grip, protector and bag

It ships with Bullpadel's stock grip. Some players keep it and add an overgrip; others swap it for a Hesacore carbon grip, which replaces the stock grip outright and changes how the handle sits in the hand. Either way, the padel grips page explains the difference before you spend anything.

Fit a protector before the first match. Rounder heads still kiss the floor on the low defensive scoop this racket is good at, and a pack of three Bullpadel frame protectors lasts a long while; more styles sit on the racket protector page. CustomWeight plates fit under the protector if you ever want a touch more head.

For balls, the Bullpadel Next Pro tube is a sound everyday choice, and our padel balls guide covers tubes against dozens. Throw the lot in the Vertex backpack, and if your trainers still have a running sole, sort that before anything else on this page: proper padel shoes grip sand-filled turf in a way no racket can make up for.

Comparing more widely? Our guide to choosing a padel racket covers shape, weight and balance from scratch, and every Bullpadel we sell is on the Bullpadel rackets page.

Bullpadel Vertex Hybrid 2027 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Vertex 05 Hybrid 27 the same racket as the 2026 Vertex 05 Hybrid?

Same mould, same published specs, new colours. Bullpadel carries each mould for two seasons, so the 2026 and 2027 Hybrids play alike. The Vertex 04 Hybrid from 2025 is the older frame and plays differently.

Does the Bullpadel Vertex Hybrid suit a right-side player?

It is a natural fit there. Padelful points the Hybrid at the all-rounder or right-side player and the diamond Vertex at the left-side attacker, because the lower balance helps with the defending and building that the right side does more of.

What is the difference between the Vertex 05 Hybrid and the Vertex 05 Geo?

The Hybrid lowers the balance and rounds the head with the same 12K face as the diamond. The Geo keeps the balance high, uses a 3K face and has a larger geometric head of about 541 cm². The Hybrid is quicker in defence; the Geo hits harder from the same swing.

How long does the 12K face on the Vertex Hybrid stay lively?

There is no fixed answer: it depends how often you play and how hard. Carbon faces gradually lose some pop, and a duller sound off the smash is the usual sign. Keep it out of hot cars and cold boots, use a cover, and fit a frame protector to stop chips turning into cracks.

How heavy is the Bullpadel Vertex 05 Hybrid?

Bullpadel publishes 365 to 375 g, the same band as the diamond Vertex 05, with a 38 mm profile. It feels lighter than the diamond because less of that weight sits in the head.

Can a beginner use the Vertex 05 Hybrid?

We wouldn't hand one to a first-year player. It is friendlier than the diamond, but it is still a firm carbon racket that rewards clean contact. A round racket with a soft core will teach you more and hurt less in the first season.
