Nox AT10 Genius 12K 2025 Padel Racket

£159.90

The Nox AT10 Genius 12K 2025 is the firmer, punchier sister of Agustin Tapia's Genius 18K: the same teardrop shape and MLD Black EVA core, 360 to 375 g, but with a plain 12K carbon face that gives the ball more pace and less cushioning. It suits attacking intermediates and advanced players who already swing cleanly.

It's also the last Genius 12K before Nox switched the face to its stiffer 12K Alum Xtrem weave for 2026, so this is now last season's racket, priced like one.

Nox AT10 Genius 12K vs 18K: which one is for you?

Padelful scored both 2025 Geniuses and the gap is clearer than the names suggest. The 12K rates 9.0 for power against 7.9 for the 18K; the 18K hits back with 8.4 for rebound against the 12K's 7.4. Control is level at 8.3, and both are among the quickest rackets in the hand Nox makes, 9.5 and 9.6 for manoeuvrability.

Put simply, the 12K makes you hit the ball and then rewards you for it, while the 18K does more of the work on defensive balls and feels kinder doing it. If you finish points from the net, lean 12K. If you spend a lot of the rally behind the service line lobbing and resetting, the Genius 18K Alum 2025 is the gentler partner.

Nox AT10 Genius 12K 2025 review: how it plays

The first volley tells you most of what you need. There's a crisp, slightly hard response off the face, the ball leaves quickly, and when you catch a bandeja properly it carries real weight towards the back glass. Padelful puts the sweet spot at 9.0, generous for a racket this firm, and calls the 2025 a bridge model for players who both defend and attack.

Low rebound is the flip side. On soft, slow balls you have to add the pace yourself, and blocking a heavy smash takes a firm wrist rather than a relaxed one. Padelful notes it brings more vibration and a firmer impact than soft-core rackets. Your forearm will tell you within a week whether that's a problem.

Our opinion: for a strong intermediate who's ready for carbon and likes to attack, this is one of the better-value Nox rackets on sale, precisely because the newer Alum Xtrem version has pushed it into last season.

Genius 12K 2025, 2026 or 2027: what changed?

Nox has sold a Genius 12K every season. The 2024 and 2025 editions are close to identical on Padelful's sheet: same weight window, same MLD Black EVA core, same 12K carbon face and almost the same scores. For 2026 Nox moved to its 12K Alum Xtrem face, an aluminised weave it pitches as its stiffest 12K, and branded the racket AT10 Luxury Genius 12K. For 2027 the Luxury prefix went, and Padelful scores the current Genius 12K Alum Xtrem at 9.0 overall, the highest of any Nox it has tested.

So the 2025 isn't an older copy of the current racket. It's the plain-12K version, a little less stiff than the Alum Xtrem models, and many players prefer it for exactly that reason.

The face and the tech on the 2025 Genius 12K

Nox gave the 2025 a dual-texture face it calls Exclusive Spin: a raised 3D hexagonal pattern in the middle, where most balls are struck, with a sand-textured finish around it. On a slice or a víbora you feel the ball bite rather than skid.

Elsewhere there's EOS Flap, which Nox says improves handling and weight distribution, the Pulse System in the Custom Grip to absorb vibration, and the Smartstrap, a wrist cord you can replace when it frays. The cord is worth checking: the FIP's rules make one compulsory, and losing the racket mid-point costs you that point.

Is the Nox AT10 Genius 12K right for you?

Yes if you're an ambitious intermediate or an advanced player who attacks from the net, likes a firm feel and wants Tapia's teardrop without paying for this season's model. It suits left-side players who want to finish points and right-side players with a big bandeja. Our advanced padel rackets page sets out where that level starts, and the teardrop padel rackets range has the alternatives in the same shape.

Not for you if

Your arm is sensitive, you're still in your first year or two, or you rely on the racket to give the ball depth from the back. A firm core and low rebound make defensive balls hard work. The 18K is kinder, and Nox's AT10 Pro Cup Soft is the softer teardrop for improvers.

Protecting and kitting out the Genius 12K

A firm carbon racket doesn't forgive a knock off the glass, so fit the Nox racket protector or another from the protector range before the first session. Keep a fresh overgrip on it too; the Nox Custom Grip matches the brand, and our padel grips page covers the alternatives.

For balls, a tube of Nox Pro Titanium suits a fast racket, and the padel balls guide explains how quickly a tube loses its bounce. The AT10 Competition XL Compact bag has room for two rackets and shoes, or see every padel bag. Pair it with padel shoes that grip sand-filled turf, such as Nox's light AT10 Lux, because a racket built to attack needs feet that can get you to the net.

Nox AT10 Genius 12K 2025 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Nox AT10 Genius 12K 2025 the same as the 12K Alum Xtrem?

No. The 2025 Genius 12K has a plain 12K carbon face. From 2026 Nox fitted its 12K Alum Xtrem face, an aluminised weave it describes as its stiffest 12K, and the shape and weight window stayed the same.

Which has more power, the Nox AT10 Genius 12K or 18K?

The 12K, on Padelful's 2025 scores: 9.0 for power against 7.9. The 18K gives more rebound, 8.4 against 7.4, so it feels easier on defensive balls. Control is equal at 8.3.

Is the Nox AT10 Genius 12K good for intermediate players?

For a strong intermediate who attacks, yes. Padelful describes the 2025 edition as a bridge model for players who both defend and attack. If you are still finding the sweet spot regularly or have a sore arm, choose something softer first.

Is the 2025 Genius 12K different from the 2024 version?

Barely. Padelful lists the same weight, core, face and shape, with scores within a tenth of each other: 9.1 against 9.0 for power and 8.9 against 9.0 for the sweet spot.

How heavy is the Nox AT10 Genius 12K 2025?

Padelful lists 360 to 375 g, and one UK listing gives 370 g. Add roughly 4 to 5 g for each overgrip you wrap on the handle.

How do I make a Nox Genius 12K last?

Fit a frame protector, keep the racket out of hot cars and away from radiators, and store it in a cover. Carbon faces suffer most from heat and impacts against the glass and floor, so those habits matter more than how often you play.
