Nox AT10 Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2026 Padel Racket

£225

The Nox AT10 Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2026 is Agustin Tapia's stiffest teardrop from last season, made for advanced players who swing fast and want precision: Nox's 12K Alum Xtrem face over a firm black EVA core, 360 to 375 g, with a medium balance.

Nox sold it as the AT10 Luxury Genius 12K Alum Xtrem. For 2027 the Luxury tag went and the racket became the Genius 12K Alum Xtrem by Agustin Tapia, so if you've seen both names, they're consecutive editions of the same line.

AT10 Luxury Genius 12K: what the name means

Nox names its rackets in layers. AT10 is Tapia's line, Genius his premium mould, 12K Alum Xtrem the face (an aluminised 12K weave, the stiffest 12K Nox makes) and the year the season. Luxury is the tell: in Nox's catalogue, a Luxury in the title means 2026 or earlier, because Nox dropped the word for its 2027 range.

That matters when you're comparing prices online. A Luxury Genius 12K is this racket; a Genius 12K Alum Xtrem without the word is the 2027 edition.

Nox AT10 Genius 12K 2026 review: how it plays

Padelful scored the 2026 at 8.7 overall, with 9.0 for power, 9.4 for manoeuvrability and 9.0 for the sweet spot. Its strengths are fast, controlled volleys at the net, stable blocks against pace and a spin-friendly bandeja and víbora. The reviewer's summary is neat: a technical racket first and a generous racket second.

The other side of a stiff face shows on slow balls. Padelful lists three weaknesses: you have to work on slower balls, mishits are less forgiving, and the feel is stronger on the arm. Rebound sits at 7.4, so the racket returns the pace you give it and adds little of its own.

Bar chart of Padelful scores for the Nox AT10 Genius 12K in its 2026, 2027 and 2025 editions

Genius 12K 2026 vs 2025 and 2027

The 2025 Genius 12K used a plain 12K carbon face; 2026 brought the Alum Xtrem face, and Padelful's control score rose from 8.3 to 8.6 with power unchanged at 9.0. The 2027 edition kept the face and nudged control, rebound and sweet spot up again, to 9.1, 7.9 and 9.5.

So the 2026 sits in the middle: stiffer and more precise than the 2025, a fraction less forgiving than the 2027. As last season's racket it's usually priced below the 2027, which makes it the sensible way into the Alum Xtrem face.

Scores from Padelful. Power is 9.0 in all three seasons.

Genius 12K or 18K in 2026?

Against the 2026 Genius 18K Alum, the 12K hits harder (9.0 against 7.9 for power) and the 18K gives far more back on defence (8.5 against 7.4 for rebound). Control and sweet spot are close. The 18K also had Nox's Weight Balance counterweights in 2026; we haven't seen that confirmed for the 12K, so we don't claim it.

Choose the 12K if you hit through the ball and want the face to stay firm; choose the 18K if you'd like more help when you're stretched. The Genius 18K Alum 2027 explains the 18K line in more depth, and the 2026 18K also exists as the boxed London P1 Exclusive.

Who should buy the 2026 Genius 12K?

Advanced players, and strong intermediates with a fast, clean swing, who want a precise teardrop and are happy to supply the pace. Padelmarket pitches it at upper-intermediate to advanced, which matches the scores. Our advanced padel rackets page explains the level, and the padel racket sale covers last season's editions across brands.

Not for you if

Your arm is sensitive, you rely on the racket to give the ball depth, or you're still learning to find the sweet spot. Padelful flags a stronger feel on the arm. The softer 18K, Edu Alonso's Ventus Hybrid on the same 12K Xtrem face, or Nox's AT10 Pro Cup Soft will treat you better.

Grip, protector and kit for the Genius 12K

Fit the Nox racket protector or another from the racket protector range before you play, and keep a fresh overgrip on the handle; a stiff racket feels harsher with a worn grip. The Nox Custom Grip matches the brand, and our padel grips page has the rest.

Lively balls suit a racket that adds little rebound, so open a fresh tube of Nox Pro Titanium for matches; the padel balls guide covers how quickly they fade. Carry it in a padel bag with a thermal pocket, such as Tapia's wheeled AT10 Competition Trolley, and play in padel shoes made for sand-filled turf. The full padel racket range and our guide to choosing a padel racket cover the alternatives.

Nox AT10 Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2026 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Nox AT10 Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2026 the same as the AT10 Luxury Genius 12K?

Yes. Nox sold the 2026 racket as the AT10 Luxury Genius 12K Alum Xtrem. The 2027 version drops the Luxury tag and is sold as the Genius 12K Alum Xtrem by Agustin Tapia.

Should I buy the 2026 or 2027 Nox Genius 12K?

The 2027 scores higher on Padelful for control, rebound and sweet spot; the 2026 is the same face and shape at last season's price. If budget matters, the 2026 is the better value; if you want the most forgiving version, buy the 2027.

Is the Nox AT10 Genius 12K 2026 good for intermediate players?

Only for strong intermediates with a fast, clean swing. Low rebound and a medium-hard feel make slow balls hard work. Most intermediates are better served by the Genius 18K or the AT10 Pro Cup Soft.

What core does the Nox Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2026 use?

A firm black EVA core. Zona de Padel lists it as MLD Black EVA with a hard touch and Padelful as HR3 Black EVA; both describe a firm, medium-hard feel.

How heavy is the Nox AT10 Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2026?

It is listed at 360 to 375 g. An overgrip adds about 4 to 5 g at the handle.

How do I protect a Nox Genius 12K?

Fit a frame protector before the first session, keep it in a cover away from heat, and change the overgrip often. Stiff carbon faces suffer most from knocks on the glass and hot cars.
