Nox AT10 Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2027 Padel Racket

£302.99

The Nox AT10 Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2027 is the stiffer, more precise twin of Agustin Tapia's Genius 18K, built for advanced players who swing fast and want feedback from every contact. It shares the teardrop shape, the firm MLD Black EVA core and the 360 to 375 g window, but uses Nox's 12K Alum Xtrem face, the stiffest 12K weave in its range.

Padelful rates it 9.0 overall, the highest score it has given any Nox. Nox now sells it as the Genius 12K Alum Xtrem by Agustin Tapia, without the AT10 or Luxury tags it carried in 2026, so shop titles vary.

Nox AT10 Genius 12K or 18K in 2027?

On Padelful's 2027 scores the 12K beats the 18K in three of five columns. Power is 9.0 against 7.9, control 9.1 against 8.7, and the sweet spot 9.5 against 9.0. The 18K wins back rebound, 8.5 against 7.9, and stays fractionally quicker in the hand.

What that means on court: the 12K is the sharper tool. Volleys go exactly where you aim, the víbora comes off penetrating and low, and a big bandeja actually hurts the opponent. The Genius 18K Alum 2027 is the friendlier racket when you're stretched, giving the ball depth on a lazy defensive swing that the 12K simply won't.

Pick by how you lose points. If it's because the ball sits up for the other pair, buy the 12K. If it's because you're scrambling at the back glass, buy the 18K.

Nox AT10 Genius 12K review: how the 2027 plays

Start at the net, because that's where this racket earns its score. Exchanges of fast volleys feel controlled rather than frantic, and the sweet spot is broad enough that a block taken slightly high on the face still goes back deep. Padelful lists its strengths as quick handling in net exchanges, a broad sweet spot on volleys and a controlled, penetrating víbora.

The trouble starts when the ball is slow. Low rebound means a soft, floated ball needs you to accelerate through it; there's no free depth. Late defence off the back glass asks for an active swing, and pure flat smashes lack the head weight a diamond would put behind them. None of that is a flaw so much as a description of a racket that assumes you can hit.

Genius 12K 2027 vs 2026 and 2025: what changed?

The 12K has climbed steadily. The 2025 Genius 12K had a plain 12K carbon face and scored 8.3 for control. Nox moved to the 12K Alum Xtrem face for the 2026 edition, sold as the AT10 Luxury Genius 12K, and control rose to 8.6. The 2027 adds another half-point on control and sweet spot, and lifts rebound from 7.4 to 7.9, which makes it a touch more forgiving on slower balls than either predecessor.

Power hasn't moved: 9.0 in all three seasons. So if you own a 2026 and love it, the 2027 is a refinement rather than a reason to upgrade. If you're coming from the 2025, the difference in feel is bigger, because the face itself changed.

Who should buy the Genius 12K Alum Xtrem?

Advanced players, roughly Playtomic 4.5 and above, who already generate their own pace and want precision back from the racket. Several tour tables list the 12K Alum Xtrem as the Genius in Tapia's own hand, which tells you the kind of player it's tuned for. Our advanced padel rackets page explains where that level begins, and teardrop padel rackets covers the shape across brands.

Ambitious intermediates can grow into it, but they'll get more from the 18K or the Lite version first.

Not for you if

You need the racket to give you depth, your forearm complains after a firm session, or you're still finding the middle of the face. Padelful notes a stronger feel on the arm for the 2026 Alum Xtrem, and the 2027 is still medium-hard. Choose the 18K, the lighter Lite, or Nox's soft-core AT10 Pro Cup Soft.

Grip, protector and the rest of the kit

A stiff face rewards a firm, dry hold. Keep a fresh overgrip on it, the Nox Custom Grip or anything from our padel grips range, and change it as soon as it glazes over. Fit the Nox racket protector before you play, since carbon frames chip on the glass; there are more on the racket protector page.

Balls with plenty of pressure suit a racket that won't add depth for you, so open a fresh tube of Nox Pro Titanium for matches and read our padel balls guide on how quickly they go flat. Carry everything in the Nox AT10 XXL bag or another padel bag with a thermal pocket, and play in proper padel shoes with a sole made for sand-filled turf; Tapia's own line has the sock-fit Nox AT10 Lux pair.

Comparing more widely? The full padel racket range covers every shape and price, and our guide to choosing a padel racket explains face and core choices from the start.

Nox AT10 Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2027 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Nox Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2027 the same as the AT10 Luxury Genius 12K?

It is the next edition of it. The AT10 Luxury Genius 12K Alum Xtrem was the 2026 racket; for 2027 Nox dropped the AT10 and Luxury tags and sells it as the Genius 12K Alum Xtrem by Agustin Tapia. Shape, core, face and weight window carry over, and Padelful scores the 2027 higher on control and sweet spot.

What does 12K Alum Xtrem mean on a Nox racket?

It is the face material: a 12K carbon weave with an aluminised finish that Nox describes as its stiffest 12K. The 2025 Genius 12K used plain 12K carbon instead, which is why it feels a little less rigid.

Is the Nox AT10 Genius 12K better than the 18K?

On Padelful's 2027 scores it is ahead on power, control and sweet spot, and behind on rebound. Better depends on you: the 12K suits a player who hits through the ball, the 18K one who wants help on defensive shots.

Is the Nox AT10 Genius 12K good for intermediate players?

Only for strong intermediates with a fast, clean swing. Low rebound and a medium-hard feel make slow balls and late defence hard work. Most intermediates will improve faster with the Genius 18K or the 12K Alum Xtrem Lite.

How heavy is the Nox AT10 Genius 12K Alum Xtrem 2027?

Nox gives 360 to 375 g before an overgrip. If that feels heavy, the 2027 Lite version is listed at 350 to 360 g with a softer core.

How should I look after a Nox Genius 12K?

Keep it in a cover, away from heat, and fit a frame protector before the first session. Stiff carbon faces don't like impacts against the glass or being left in a hot car, and both shorten a racket's life more than regular play does.
