Raquex Excel Padel Racket

£125.99

The Raquex Excel padel racket is the all-rounder in the Raquex range: a hybrid or teardrop head, a 12K carbon twin-tube frame, an ImpactCore EVA 15 core and a SpinTec face, listed at 365 g. It is for improving players who want a bit of attack without the strictness of a diamond.

A retailer's blog calls it a do-it-all racket, more attacking than a round one and more controlled than a pure diamond, with a central to slightly high sweet spot. It is the retailer's own blog, though, and we found no independent review, so we treat the praise as a description and not a test result.

What we found about the Raquex Excel

A retailer describes a hybrid or teardrop head, a 12K carbon frame built as a twin-tube, an ImpactCore EVA 15 foam core and a SpinTec textured face for spin. The same blog says the Raquex rackets it covers are specced at 365 g, and puts the sweet spot central to slightly high, which it calls more forgiving than a diamond. Our own catalogue lists the racket as a teardrop with a medium balance.

What we could not confirm is the balance point in millimetres, the profile and the length. One search gave figures that a later one did not repeat, so we do not quote them. Ask us if a specific number matters to you.

Between the Eclipse and the Elite

Raquex sells three shapes. The round Eclipse is the control racket, the Excel is the hybrid in the middle, and the diamonds are the Elite and Elite Evo. A hybrid head puts the sweet spot a little higher than a round one and a little lower than a diamond, so you get some attack without paying for it every time you mishit.

That is why retailers pitch it at intermediate and versatile players, and why it is the most forgiving of the Raquex rackets that share this platform.

Excel or Elite?

On this platform the difference is shape and carbon: the Excel is a hybrid with a 12K face, the Elite a diamond with an 18K face. A finer, stiffer weave and a diamond head give the Elite a crisper, more demanding response. The Excel is gentler, which for most players below the top level is the better trade.

If you attack from the net and want the sharpest racket, take the Elite. If you rally, build points and want an occasional finish, the Excel will suit you better.

Who should skip the Raquex Excel

Anyone who wants a test result behind a purchase, anyone who needs a measured balance and dimensions, and anyone who wants the most forgiving round racket. For a hybrid with independent ratings, the Bullpadel Vertex 05 Hybrid is better documented; see our teardrop padel rackets page for more.

Not for you if

You are new to the game, you need the exact balance point, or you want an independent review. The round Eclipse is a gentler place to start.

Setting up an Excel

Fit a racket protector. Raquex sells matching kit we list: the Elite racket bag, the Evade Pro overgrip 3 pack and pink Elite padel balls. The padel grips, padel balls and padel bag pages have more, and padel shoes matter on sand-filled turf.

See the intermediate padel rackets page for comparisons, our guide to choosing a padel racket for shapes, and the full padel racket range.

Raquex Excel Padel Racket: questions people ask

Retailers call it a hybrid or teardrop, and our catalogue says teardrop. It sits between a round racket and a diamond.

What is the difference between the Raquex Excel and the Elite?

Is the Raquex Excel good for intermediate players?

Retailers pitch it at intermediates and versatile players. We found no independent review, so treat that as a description of intent.

How heavy is the Raquex Excel?

A retailer lists the Raquex rackets it covers at 365 g. We could not confirm the balance point or dimensions for the Excel.

Does the Raquex Excel have a SpinTec face?

Retailer copy lists a SpinTec texture for spin, with an ImpactCore EVA 15 core and a 12K carbon twin-tube frame.
