Oxdog Pure Tour X 2026 Padel Racket

£210

The Oxdog Pure Tour X is the middle of Oxdog's hybrid range: 365 g, a medium EVA foam, an HES Carbon 8K face and a medium balance. It's for weekly players who build points patiently, defend well and want a racket that forgives an off-centre hit without feeling soft.

Padelful scores it 8.4 overall, with a 9.3 sweet spot and 8.6 for handling. It won't hand you free power, and it doesn't pretend to.

Steady, quick and forgiving

Padelful's three strengths sum it up: a huge, forgiving sweet spot, a very manoeuvrable head, and a stable, predictable response when you're off-centre. Control (8.4) and rebound (8.5) sit in the same comfortable band. It's a racket you stop noticing after a set, which is a compliment.

The weaknesses are what you'd expect from a control racket. There's limited free power, the smash needs proper technique, and heavy balls from a big hitter make you work with your legs. Padelful sums up its player as someone who likes to feel in charge of the rally rather than end it in one shot.

Between the Pure Court and the Pure Pro+

Oxdog's Pure range climbs by foam. The softer Pure Court is the beginner's racket, with a 9.6 sweet spot but only 5.9 for power. The Pure Pro+ uses hard foam and 370 g for 9.6 control. The Tour X sits between them, and for most club players it's the one that fits longest: enough forgiveness to keep you in rallies, enough control to place the ball once you can.

Table card of the Oxdog Pure range with Padelful scores: Pure Court, Pure Tour X and Pure Pro+ by foam, power, control and sweet spot

Tour X or Pure Court?

Side by side on Padelful, the Tour X gains 1.4 points of control and 1.3 of power over the Court, gives up 0.3 on the sweet spot and 0.7 on rebound, and handles almost identically. In practice that means the Court does more of the work for a new player, and the Tour X gives a better player more say over where the ball goes. If you've played a year and your contact is reliable, buy the Tour X.

A firmer foam buys more control and power for a little less forgiveness. Scores out of 10 from Padelful. Both 365 g; overall 8.4 for the Tour X, 8.0 for the Court.

Hybrid or round?

Oxdog sells the Pure family as its hybrid shape. Padelful's spec box lists the Tour X as round, and its review text calls the frame fibreglass where the spec box says carbon. Oxdog's own page gives a carbon frame and an HES Carbon 8K face, so that's what we list.

Who should buy it

Weekly players from improver to strong intermediate who win by consistency: right-side players, lobbers, anyone who'd rather be in a long rally than gamble on a smash. Our intermediate padel racket guide puts it among the consistency picks, and the control padel racket hub has round alternatives from other brands.

Not for you if

You finish points overhead and want the racket to help. With 7.2 for power, Padelful says the smash needs proper technique. The Hyper Pro+ 2.0 or a teardrop from our advanced padel rackets page will suit an attacker better.

Kit to go with it

Fit the Oxdog No1 frame protector and keep the handle fresh with Oxdog Gold Pro overgrips or another from our padel grips range.

Control rackets lean on a ball with life in it; a tube of Oxdog Boost+ or anything on our padel balls page works. Add padel shoes with a herringbone sole and the Oxdog X Padel Bag to carry it all, or see every padel bag. The full padel racket range and our guide on how to choose a padel racket cover the rest if you're still deciding.

Oxdog Pure Tour X 2026 Padel Racket: questions people ask

Is the Oxdog Pure Tour X the same as the Ultimate Tour X?

No. Both use Oxdog's medium-foam Tour X build, but the Pure Tour X is a 365 g hybrid and the Ultimate Tour X a 355 g diamond. The Pure is the more forgiving of the two.

Is the Oxdog Pure Tour X good for intermediate players?

Yes, it is aimed squarely at them. The 9.3 sweet spot forgives mishits, and the medium foam gives more control than the soft Pure Court.

Oxdog Pure Tour X or Pure Pro+: which should I choose?

The Tour X unless you are advanced with a long swing. The Pure Pro+ has harder foam and more control, but asks for a full stroke on every ball.

How do I keep the Oxdog Pure Tour X in good condition?

Use a cover, keep it out of hot cars, fit a frame protector and change the overgrip as soon as it gets slippery.

What is the weight and face of the Oxdog Pure Tour X?

Oxdog lists 365 g with an HES Carbon 8K face over a medium EVA foam, on a carbon frame.
